presentaTION

At the end of the studies related to the first level Academic Diploma in Jazz Composition, students must have acquired specific technical and cultural skills such as to allow the concrete realization of their artistic idea. To this end, particular emphasis will be given to the study of the main jazz compositional techniques and languages most representative of different historical periods. Specific skills must be acquired in the fields of instrumentation, orchestration, transcription and arrangement. These objectives must also be achieved by promoting the development of perceptive hearing and memorization skills and with the acquisition of specific knowledge relating to the analytical models of music and their historical evolution. At the end of the three-year period, students must have acquired in-depth knowledge of the stylistic, historical and aesthetic aspects, both of a general nature and related to the specific compositional field. At the end of the studies, with reference to the specificity of the course, the student must possess adequate skills related to the field of improvisation. The training objective of the course is also the acquisition of adequate skills in the field of musical information technology, as well as those relating to a second community language.
