CORSO LIBERO DI VIOLA BAROCCA

Il corso si propone di affrontare un tema che è stato decisamente trascurato dalla didattica della musica antica, quale la prassi esecutiva della viola da braccio nel corso dei secoli, le sue peculiarità, e il percorso della sua progressiva emancipazione e specializzazione nei confronti di quella
violinistica.
Il programma sarà focalizzato sullo studio e la ricerca del repertorio originale solistico, cameristico e d'ensemble per viola da braccio (contralto e tenore), partendo dallo stile Barocco per arrivare a quello Classico, e approfondirà la storia della trattatistica d'epoca.
Assieme allo studio del repertorio verranno affrontati aspetti esecutivi fondamentali quali la pratica del "suonare le parti di mezzo", attraverso lo sviluppo della versatilità timbrica, la sensibilità per un tipo di intonazione "armonica", e l'uso dell'archetto come mezzo espressivo per eccellenza.

The class aims to address a theme that has been decidedly neglected by the teaching of ancient music, such as the performance practice of the viola da braccio over the centuries, its peculiarities, and the path of its progressive emancipation and specialization towards the violin.
The program will focus on the study and research of the original solo, chamber and ensemble repertoire for viola da braccio (contralto and tenore), starting from the Baroque style to arrive at the Classical one, and will deepen the history of period treatises.
Together with the study of the repertoire, fundamental executive aspects will be addressed such as the practice of "playing the middle parts", through the development of tonal versatility, the sensitivity for a type of "harmonic" intonation, and the use of the bow as a means of expression par
excellence.
